Alberta’s Transportation Minister is trying to force the City of Calgary to stop building safe bike lanes that could "impact driving lanes".
But here's the thing - all bike lanes impact driving lanes because they get people out of their cars and moving around the city more efficiently.
It seems that Minister Dreeshen wants a veto over every bike lane project in Calgary.
Calgary city council should decide the transportation infrastructure we build out, not a provincial government that loves to overstep their responsibilities.
This is just another attempt at political interference in Calgary from the provincial government.
Tell Minister Dreeshen to stay in his lane!
